Kuta - Ubud - Uluwatu - Nusa Penida

Rich in natural beauty, culture, tradition and history, Bali has something  for everyone. From sacred volcanic peaks and rice terraces to enchanted forests and wavy beaches –  here is what I captured in the different cities I've had the chance to visit.

To briefly introduce the cities, Kuta and Semyniak are the most famous destinations for tourists seeking for parties. If you’re looking for something more than idyllic coasts and hip bars easily found in Kuta / Seminyak, the art and culture capital of Bali, Ubud, is a good option. Don't miss Mount Batur, an active volcano located  1,717 meters above sea level. It has become famous to hike it up to watch the sunrise over nearby volcanoes Mount Agung and Mount Agang. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded by the first stunning pinkish rays of sun.

Another main attraction is the Ubud Monkey Forest, a nature paradise that lies within the village of Padangtegal where you can observe around 700 monkeys and 186 species of trees in 12.5 hectares of forest. The Balinese view the Monkey Forest as an important spiritual, economic, educational, and conservation center for the village. There’s a mystical vibe to this forest.

Finally, Nusa Penida is a miniature of Bali in a more pristine, unspoilt state. With its epic cliffs, beautiful beaches and manta-ray experience, it’s starting to become more of a must-do than Bali itself. To get there you will take a boat or a ferry for about 30-minutes.
