Medellin
Amazing Medellin, you definitely earn the first place in my heart. I've spent unforgettable days with my best friend in this iconic Colombian city (and even celebrate the new year 2020): nice weather, friendly people, street art vibes, good coffee (try Pergamino) and variety of attractions to do including free walking tours.
Full of beautiful parks, head to the Botanical Gardens for a picnic, visit the Botero Park or take Medellin’s innovative cable car public transport to Parque Arvi and travel up the sides of mountains surrounding the city.
Another activity to not miss is Comuna 13. Once the most dangerous neighborhood in the world, it has now turned into a charming area famous for its burgeoning street art scene. There are some truly beautiful murals and graffiti to see, and a tremulous atmosphere to experience.
If you want to visit all the key tourist sights in the centre of Medellin, join a free walking tour. It takes all morning and includes Parque de Las Luces, Plaza Botero and Plaza San Antonio. It's probably the best way to learn about the city’s history at the same time.
