Kampot
Untouched nature, minimal traffic, river over the mountains, authentic cuisine and chilled vibes are all captured in the small town of Kampot, located on the west coast of Cambodia, few hours from the capital. The riverside location at the foot of the Elephant Mountains is a huge part of Kampot’s attraction. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy ; if you go there don't forget to have a dip in the river.
Even though there’s not much to do in the city itself, there’s plenty to do in the surrounding countryside. I would highly suggest to have a look at Bokor Mountain . Once a resort for French colonialists before becoming a hideout for the Khmer Rouge, the abandoned Bokor Hill Station today stands as a reminder of the country’s fall and offers stunning view over Kampot.

But Kampot is best known for its pepper farm plantation that produces some of the best pepper in the world. Coming in four forms – black, green, red and white – the pepper adds a real kick to dishes. Concerning the farm choice, Sothy’s Pepper Farm, La Plantation and Starling Farm are good options.
