Jaipur is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan.
Known as the Pink City, every building within the walled historic centre is painted a terracotta “pink” colour and there are few exceptions to this uniformly colour scheme.

One such renowned heritage site is the Amber Fort, famous for its combination of Hindu and Mughal architecture. The view from the top is beautiful, between mountains, lakes and Indian houses.

Another perfect place to catch the beauty of Jaipur is Nahargarh Fort. It stands on the edge of the Aravalli Hills, overlooking the pink city. More in the historical centre, built from red and pink sandstone, the stunning Hawa Mahal or Palace of Windows sits on the edge of the City Palace.
 

Another attraction to not miss is the Man Segar Lake.  In the middle of this lake you can admire the Jal Mahal or "Water Palace".  Locals and tourists are walking through the vibrant street markets along the lake while enjoying the view of the palace.
