Luang Prabang

The royal city of Luang Prabang has so many natural wonders, Situated in the northern of Laos, it is the place where the most majestic temples of the country are gathered. Also inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is a perfect example of the fusion of traditional Lao architecture with structures built by the European colonial authorities in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The best way to admire the charm of this city is to climb Mount Phou Si Hill where Wat Chom Si temple sits at the top. Stay for the sunset over the Mekong River, you will be rewarded with stunning colours in the sky.

Other than that, one of my favourite day trip was Kuang Si Falls, a series of turquoise pools, connected by cascading water.  Climb the top if you're looking for some nice views and clear water pools surrounded by jungle. Anyway, uphill, there are many other pools to splash in or chill around if you don't feel like hiking.
