Malacca
Situated in the south west coast of Malaysia, few hours from Kuala Lumpur, Malacca is built with Malay villages siting next to colonial relics from the Portuguese, Dutch and British.
Although Penang is the street art capital of Malaysia, it’s not the country’s only place to see it. Malacca has its own share of impressive street arts. Unlike the creative 3D murals in other old towns, the murals in Malacca are mostly paintings and categorically more diversified.
In the centre, Jonker Street is the soul of Malacca: colourful and decorated shophouses, nice cafés, riverside bars and tasty street food.
The Baboon House is a highly recommended place if you look for a unique café. Famous for its authentic gourmet burgers, freshly ground coffee and laidback atmosphere, you can also admire various crafts decorating the walls.
At night, the riverside bars and restaurants are all illuminated, giving a very warm feeling while walking around. Another way to admire the city at dawn, is to get on a boat for a river cruise during sunset: 45 minutes of magical view.
